In a move aimed at strengthening artificial intelligence adoption in the travel sector, ixigo has announced an expanded collaboration with OpenAI to advance AI capabilities and deploy them at scale across the industry.
The company said the collaboration will accelerate AI integration across its platforms, including ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and Abhibus. By leveraging OpenAI’s Enterprise API platforms, ixigo plans to deploy advanced AI tools and integrate next-generation coding models across its entire technology stack.
According to the company, these capabilities will support autonomous workflows and unlock new AI-driven use cases. This includes fully autonomous agents, AI-assisted workflows, contextual AI assistants, and continued research to create AI-first travel customer experiences.
ixigo said it has been among the travel industry’s earliest adopters of AI. The company highlighted that 90% of its voice and chat-based customer support is already handled end-to-end by AI. Beyond customer service, AI is also being used across software engineering, business processes, marketing, and operations.
In 2025, ixigo introduced its 3-pronged AI strategy, Project Trishul, focused on efficiency, revenue, and disruption. The strategy is designed to improve operating leverage, enable smarter monetisation, and build multi-modal agentic capabilities across its platforms.
The company noted that the expanded OpenAI integration will speed up AI-powered coding and quality assurance. It will also help ixigo scale fully autonomous workflows across the organisation, allowing teams to automate complex processes more efficiently.
