Google adds Answer Now button to Gemini for faster replies

Google is reportedly rolling out a new feature for its Gemini assistant that focuses on speed and instant responses. Called Answer Now, the feature allows users to receive quick replies without waiting for detailed processing. The button appears next to the spinning status indicator when a response is being generated on Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Thinking models. It is not available on the Fast model.

According to a technology publication, when users tap the Answer Now button, Gemini shows a message saying it is “skipping in-depth thinking” and then provides a shorter and quicker response. The assistant continues to use the selected model instead of switching to the Fast version, as seen through the three dot menu at the end of the reply.

The feature is reportedly being rolled out to both free and paid users of the Gemini app across Android, iOS, and the web.

This update comes shortly after Google introduced the Personal Intelligence feature for Gemini. This option allows the assistant to access parts of a user Google ecosystem such as Gmail, Drive, and Photos to offer more personalised answers.

Users can choose which apps to connect, including Gmail, Photos, YouTube, and Search. They can also turn off access whenever they want. Google has said that Gemini will clearly mention the sources it uses from the connected apps.

With these updates, Google aims to make Gemini both faster and more personal for users.
