Google is reportedly rolling out a new update to the Gemini app that makes it easier for users to find and manage long-form content they have created. According to a report, the update introduces a dedicated “Documents” section that brings Deep Research reports and Canvas creations together in one place. The change is aimed at helping users quickly return to past work without scrolling through mixed content.
The update builds on last month’s web redesign of the Gemini app, which introduced a “My Stuff” folder. Earlier, this section displayed all Gemini-generated content in a grid of rounded tiles. While this layout worked well for images and short outputs, it made long document titles harder to read and identify.
With the new update, Google has reportedly reorganised the “My Stuff” area on the web. When users click on it from the side panel, they now see clearly defined sections instead of a single grid view. The existing “Media” section continues to show generated images and videos, similar to the earlier design. Alongside it, a new “Documents” section has been added for text-heavy outputs.
The Documents section reportedly includes Deep Research reports and Canvas creations. This covers both written documents and code-based projects. The most recent 2 documents appear at the top, and selecting them takes users to a complete list. This layout is said to make it easier to browse longer titles and manage ongoing projects.
Each document type is also shown with a small icon on the left. This helps users quickly distinguish between research reports, text documents, and coding work. At present, the Documents view is not available on the Android or iOS versions of the Gemini app.
In addition to these changes, the report also stated that the mobile Gemini apps are adding a shortcut to NotebookLM in the account menu. This shortcut opens the full NotebookLM website, not the mobile app, even if the app is already installed on the device.
The update reflects Google’s efforts to improve content organisation within Gemini, especially for users who rely on the platform for long-form writing, research, and coding tasks.
