Zimmer Biomet launches Bengaluru GCC to expand digital and AI capabilities

India’s growing importance in the global GCC ecosystem continues to attract major international companies. Global medical technology company Zimmer Biomet has launched a new global capability centre (GCC) in Bengaluru to expand its digital transformation and technology operations in the country.

Developed in partnership with ANSR, the new centre will support Zimmer Biomet’s global business functions across technology, analytics, digital transformation, and business processes. The company is also actively hiring talent in healthcare technology, engineering, and digital services.

The US-based healthcare firm is known for its work in musculoskeletal healthcare, developing products and technologies aimed at improving mobility and reducing pain. In 2025, its Gurgaon facility introduced an AI-powered orthopaedic suite that included a digital care platform and robotic-assisted surgical systems.

With the Bengaluru launch, Zimmer Biomet joins a growing list of global healthcare companies expanding their India presence to build advanced capabilities in analytics, product development, engineering, and digital operations.

India’s GCC sector is witnessing rapid growth driven by AI-led expansion and rising global demand. According to a recent industry report, the country now hosts 2,117 GCCs operating through 3,728 units and employing around 2.36 million professionals. The sector reached a market value of $98.4 billion in FY26 and is expected to cross the $100 billion mark earlier than projected.
