Enterprise software company Whatfix has appointed co-founder Vara Kumar as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following the demise of co-founder Khadim Batti on September 1.

Kumar co-founded Whatfix with Batti in 2014 and has played a key role in shaping the company’s product and research strategy. As CEO, he will now oversee Whatfix’s operations and growth, working with the existing executive leadership team and board.

The company said its operations across different regions will continue under the new leadership.

Based in Bengaluru and San Jose, Whatfix operates a digital adoption platform that uses AI, analytics, simulation training and intelligent agents to help enterprises use software more effectively.

The company says it serves more than 600 enterprises globally, including over 80 Fortune 500 companies such as Shell, Schneider Electric, Mercedes-Benz, Heineken and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.

Whatfix is backed by investors including Warburg Pincus, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Dragoneer, Peak XV Partners, Eight Roads and Cisco Investments.
