Vivo is expanding its T5 smartphone series in India with the upcoming T5 5G, which is scheduled to launch on September 2. The company has already confirmed several key specifications, including a high-refresh-rate display, a new MediaTek chipset and a large battery.
The Vivo T5 5G will launch in India on September 2 at 12 PM IST. It will be available in 2 colour options: Royal Bronze and Silver Green. A dedicated launch microsite on Flipkart indicates that the phone could be sold through the e-commerce platform, along with the Vivo India online store.
The handset will join the existing Vivo T5 lineup, which includes the Vivo T5 Lite 5G, T5x 5G and T5 Pro 5G.
Vivo says the T5 5G will feature its Skyline Design, recently seen on the Vivo S2. The teaser shows a horizontal camera bar across the upper part of the rear panel, with 2 camera lenses and an LED light ring. The phone also appears to have a curved design.
The handset will run on OriginOS, with OriginOS 6 currently being the latest version offered by the brand.
The Vivo T5 5G will measure 7.9mm in thickness. The company claims it will feature the segment’s slimmest 3D curved display in the ₹34,999 to ₹49,999 price range, suggesting that the smartphone will be priced below ₹50,000 in India.
The phone will feature a 1.5K 144Hz 3D curved AMOLED display with a centred hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the smartphone will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor. Vivo has not yet revealed the RAM and storage configurations.
The Vivo T5 5G is also confirmed to pack a 7,050mAh battery. More details are expected to be revealed closer to its September launch.
