Veeam unveils new AI-focused platform to strengthen enterprise data resilience and compliance

As enterprises rapidly adopt autonomous AI agents, Veeam Software has introduced a new platform aimed at strengthening data governance, security and resilience in AI-powered business environments.

The company announced the Veeam DataAI Command Platform following its acquisition of Securiti AI. The platform combines data resilience, governance, compliance, privacy and security into a single framework designed for organisations managing large-scale AI operations across cloud, SaaS and on-premises systems.

According to Veeam, AI agents are now outnumbering human employees by 82:1, while 97% of these agents reportedly operate with excessive access privileges. The company said this growing trend increases the risk of data misuse, exposure and cyber incidents as AI systems interact with sensitive enterprise information at machine speed.

The new platform is designed to provide visibility into data, identities, AI models and access controls across enterprise environments. A key feature is the DataAI Command Graph, which connects data across cloud, SaaS and on-premises infrastructure to identify sensitive information, track access permissions and detect risk-related changes.

The platform also extends visibility across live and backup systems, helping organisations assess security risks in both operational and recovery environments.

Veeam said the platform includes data and AI security posture management, identity intelligence and governance controls enforced directly at the data source. This allows businesses to manage access to sensitive data even if AI agents are unknown, unsanctioned or potentially malicious.

The compliance framework supports more than 100 global regulations and standards, including the EU AI Act, DORA, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST and AI RMF. Privacy controls are also built into the platform to enforce policies based on user identity, data type and regional regulations.

For cyber resilience, the platform enables targeted data recovery by identifying and reversing specific data-level issues instead of restoring entire systems.

Veeam also previewed Veeam Intelligence ResOps for Microsoft 365 and a new DataAI Resilience Module for existing Veeam Data Platform users.

The launch reflects the growing industry shift toward data-centric security and governance as AI agents gain broader access to enterprise systems and sensitive information.
