Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, said that Artificial Intelligence is no longer an option but an essential pillar of good governance. He emphasized the importance of using AI responsibly and intelligently.
Addressing the valedictory session of the 29th National e-Governance Conference in Jaipur this afternoon, Mr. Singh said that achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 requires a fundamental shift in administrative thinking.
Mr. Singh noted that the government’s guiding principle of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” is driving efforts to build a citizen-centric, transparent, and accountable administration. He also highlighted that the Central Government has abolished nearly 2,000 outdated rules that hindered efficient governance, including the mandatory attestation of documents and several other procedural requirements.
During the ceremony, Mr. Singh presented the National e-Governance Awards. This year, 17 awards were conferred across seven categories, comprising 10 Gold Awards and 6 Silver Awards.
The awards recognize initiatives that have strengthened and expanded grassroots service delivery through digitalization, with a dedicated category for Gram Panchayats.
