India must continue accelerating advancements in space technology to strengthen innovation, national development and global competitiveness, a Union Minister said while highlighting the growing importance of the country’s space sector.
Speaking at an event in Andhra Pradesh, the minister stressed that space technology is becoming a major driver of scientific progress, economic growth and strategic development. The remarks come as India continues expanding its capabilities in satellite systems, space exploration and advanced research.
The minister highlighted that India’s space sector has witnessed rapid transformation in recent years, supported by technological innovation, policy reforms and increased participation from private companies and startups.
He emphasized that space technology is no longer limited to scientific missions and is now playing a major role in areas such as communication, agriculture, disaster management, navigation, weather forecasting and national security.
The minister also underlined the importance of encouraging young talent, research institutions and industry collaboration to strengthen India’s position in the global space ecosystem.
According to the minister, India’s achievements in space missions have enhanced the country’s international recognition and opened new opportunities for innovation-driven growth.
The government is also focusing on expanding infrastructure, research capabilities and private sector participation to accelerate the development of next-generation space technologies.
The minister said India should continue investing in advanced space research and innovation to support long-term national progress and technological leadership.
The address also highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between government agencies, educational institutions and technology companies to build a skilled workforce for the future of the space industry.
India’s growing space ambitions continue to attract global attention as the country strengthens its role in satellite technology, commercial space services and scientific exploration.
