STL strengthens US expansion strategy with major investment in AI-ready connectivity manufacturing

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) has announced plans to invest up to $100 million in the United States to expand its manufacturing capacity and strengthen support for growing demand from AI data centres and telecom customers.

The announcement was made at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, a federal initiative focused on attracting foreign investment into the United States. According to the company, the investment is expected to generate around 400 to 500 new jobs.

STL said the investment will help expand its portfolio of advanced connectivity solutions in the US, including terminated optical fibre cables. The move is aimed at supporting hyperscale data centres and telecom operators building AI-ready digital infrastructure.

The company also revealed that it has already secured agreements with major US customers for supplying high-speed optical connectivity solutions for data centre and network deployments.

According to STL, the manufacturing expansion will support increasing demand for high-density optical solutions required to connect large-scale data centre campuses and handle the growing need for GPU-driven computing infrastructure.

Recently, the company expanded its US offerings with Neuralis, its AI-focused data centre portfolio, along with proprietary high-capacity cable solutions under its Celesta range.

“By owning the entire value chain—from glass to the data centre portfolio—we are excited to enable our customers to build the physical foundation for the AI era,” said Rahul Puri, CEO of STL. He added that the investment will help provide scalable and reliable infrastructure to support the rapid expansion of AI-driven networks across the United States.

With this expansion, STL continues strengthening its presence in the US market while supporting the growing global demand for AI infrastructure, high-speed connectivity, and next-generation data centre solutions.
