In a major action against online fraud, the Cyberabad Cybercrime Police solved 6 cybercrime cases and arrested 10 persons during a special drive conducted between May 20 and 26. Officials said the accused were operating from different States across the country.
The cases investigated during the operation included trading fraud, impersonation fraud, digital arrest fraud, job fraud and vishing call fraud.
Out of the 6 solved cases, 2 were linked to trading fraud, leading to the arrest of 4 persons. Police said the remaining accused were involved in different forms of cyber fraud targeting victims through fake calls, online scams and fraudulent digital activities.
Apart from the arrests, cybercrime officials also secured major financial relief for victims affected by online fraud.
The police obtained 440 refund orders from the court in 70 separate cases. These orders enabled the refund of nearly Rs 1.39 crore to cyber fraud victims.
Officials said the week-long operation was part of continued efforts to strengthen action against cybercriminal networks and improve recovery support for victims impacted by online financial fraud.
