In her new role, Ms. Gupta will lead engineering, research and digital technology teams in Bengaluru. Her focus will be on accelerating innovation, scaling advanced technologies and strengthening the company’s regional impact. She joins GE Aerospace from GE Vernova, where she led the gas power engineering team in India across Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Noida. She also served as the John F Welch Technology Centre site leader for GE Vernova.
Gupta succeeds Alok Nanda, who has moved into a global role as general manager of services engineering at GE Aerospace. In this position, Nanda will focus on improving customer outcomes, increasing operational efficiency and supporting the company’s next phase of growth.
India continues to play a key role in GE Aerospace’s global innovation efforts. Teams in Bengaluru are working on next generation propulsion and services technologies aimed at meeting evolving customer needs worldwide.
In September, the GE Aerospace Foundation partnered with United Way to launch Next Engineers in Bengaluru. The initiative is a four year college and career readiness programme designed to support students in engineering pathways.
GE Aerospace has been associated with India’s aviation sector for more than four decades. Currently, around 1,400 GE Aerospace and partner engines are in service, powering major Indian airlines. The company’s defence engines and systems support the Indian Air Force’s Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mk 1 and several helicopters. These systems also power aircraft carrier battleships and frigates of the Indian Navy.
The company’s manufacturing facility in Pune, along with 13 local partners in India, forms an important part of its global supply chain. Engineers and researchers at the 25 year old India technology centre in Bengaluru continue to develop advanced aviation technologies.
Over the past two years, GE Aerospace has announced investments worth 44 million dollars to expand its manufacturing operations in Pune.
