Union Minister Scindia announces timeline for satellite internet rollout in India

The Sanchar Mitra Scheme was introduced by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia with the intention of strengthening ties between the public and the telecom industry. When asked about the timetables for operating satellite communication services in India during the event, Scindia said that after licenses are granted and spectrum distribution is carried out in accordance with rules, it will be up to individual enterprises to choose their own path. He said that after businesses fulfill the necessary requirements, it is the government’s duty to provide licenses, stating that two businesses have already done so and that a third is almost finished.

Scindia reaffirmed the government’s intention to grant licenses to businesses that comply with the rules and emphasized that TRAI-established regulatory frameworks would determine how spectrum would be distributed. He emphasized how crucial it is for businesses to decide their course in light of these allocations.
