Samsung eyes wearable dominance with upcoming Galaxy AI smart glasses launch
Samsung and Google collaborate on stylish 12MP smart glasses to rival Meta's dominance

Samsung is expected to reveal its highly anticipated Galaxy AI smart glasses in the second half of 2026. Reports suggest a likely debut in July, coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. This move represents a strategic leap into wearable tech, prioritizing a blend of high-end fashion and sophisticated functionality.

To ensure the device appeals to both tech enthusiasts and style-conscious users, the company has partnered with a major search engine and prominent eyewear designers Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. These glasses are built on the Android XR platform, creating a seamless connection between the user’s digital and physical worlds.

The hardware is designed for high performance and daily utility. Each pair features a 12MP camera and a specialized chipset optimized for augmented reality. A 155mAh to 245mAh battery provides the power needed for regular use throughout the day. Users can interact with the device using hands-free controls, including voice commands, visual recognition, and physical gestures.

This product launch aims to compete directly with existing smart glasses from social media giants like Meta. It also incorporates critical user feedback gathered from the release of the Galaxy XR headset last year. By focusing on a lightweight design and deep ecosystem integration, the company hopes to make these glasses an essential accessory for modern mobile users.
