In his new role, Vasudev will lead strategic sourcing, improve supplier performance, and drive contract efficiency across Reliance’s wide range of businesses. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the group’s procurement leadership and commercial operations.
Before joining Reliance Industries in this role, Vasudev served as General Manager at Reliance Retail for more than four years. During this period, he led supply chain commercials across several business verticals and transport modes. He played a key role in building strong procurement partnerships while driving cost efficiency and service improvement programs.
Earlier, he worked as Head of Raw Material Procurement at PGP Glass Private Limited. There, he aligned procurement planning with production needs and actively developed global vendor networks along with alternate sourcing strategies.
Vasudev also spent over twelve years at Piramal Glass Limited, where he held several senior leadership roles. His responsibilities included serving as Deputy General Manager for Logistics. During his time there, he received multiple awards for innovation and excellence in logistics procurement, including recognition from CII and the National Quality Excellence Awards.
He began his professional journey with Asian Paints and later worked with organisations such as Praxair Incorporated and Gujarat Glass. Across these roles, he gained hands on experience in logistics, warehousing, export operations, and excise compliance, building expertise across diverse industries and regions.
With this appointment, Reliance Industries looks to further strengthen its procurement and contract management functions through Vasudev’s deep industry experience and proven leadership track record.
