Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to bring the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max to India next month, with a new leak pointing to September 15 as the possible launch date. The upcoming models are also expected to cost more than their predecessors while offering upgrades to displays and batteries.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the 2 smartphones could launch in India on September 15. Their prices are expected to be around Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 8,000 higher than the Redmi Note 15 Pro series. The phones are expected to focus on large displays and high-capacity batteries.
The Redmi Note 17 series is confirmed to make its global debut on August 27. Xiaomi’s global website has also listed the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, although the company has not confirmed the India launch date or pricing.
Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max specifications
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is expected to feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and pack a 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging. The phone may also feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel front camera.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is expected to retain the 6.83-inch 120Hz display but could use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Its global listing mentions a 10,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The retail box will not include a charger.
Across the global Redmi Note 17 lineup, Xiaomi has confirmed a 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. The phones will carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance and have SGS and TÜV SÜD certifications.
The series will also feature photochromic designs, including a Cloud Blush finish that changes colour in sunlight. Xiaomi has confirmed AI-powered portrait enhancement.
The Note 17 Pro Max is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and 32-megapixel selfie camera. A Xiaomi sample lists an f/1.5 aperture, 26mm focal length, 1/60-second shutter speed and ISO 125.
