Ahead of the official India launch on May 22, Realme has revealed several major features of the upcoming Realme 16T 5G smartphone. The company has confirmed details related to the device’s camera system, display, battery and durability features before the launch event later this week.
The Realme 16T 5G will become part of the Realme 16 series and will be available through Flipkart, the Realme India website and offline retail stores.
The smartphone is confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus support. The camera setup will also include Realme’s LumaColor IMAGE Engine, which uses AI-based processing to improve textures, skin tones and dynamic range in photos.
Realme said the handset will support RAW HDR processing and custom white balance tuning. It will also introduce AI Portrait Glow, a feature designed to enhance facial lighting in low-light and backlit conditions. Users will additionally get portrait effects including Flash, Rim Light, Natural Light and Studio Light.
The company has also confirmed a rear Selfie Mirror feature, allowing users to preview selfies while using the rear camera. Other AI-powered tools include AI Popout Collage, AI StyleMe, AI Profile Portrait, AI Football Star, AI Light Me and AI Instant Clip, which can reportedly generate short-form videos from images and clips in nearly 10 seconds.
On the display side, the Realme 16T 5G will feature a 144Hz refresh rate panel with up to 2,100 nits peak brightness. The smartphone will also support a 400% Ultra Volume mode.
In terms of durability, the handset carries IP69 Pro dust and water resistance certification along with military-grade shock resistance protection.
Earlier teasers also confirmed that the smartphone will pack an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, bypass charging and reverse wired charging. Realme claims the battery can deliver up to 3 days of usage and maintain healthy performance for up to 7 years.
The device is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and may launch with at least 8GB RAM and Android 16. It is likely to arrive in Starlight Black, Starlight Blue and Starlight Red colour options.
