Rangaswamy R has stepped into a broader finance leadership role at ABB, taking charge as Chief Financial Officer of ABB Global Industries and Services (GISPL).
The appointment marks a significant progression in his more than 9-year career with the global technology company.
In his new role, Rangaswamy brings experience across business controlling, financial planning, project finance, risk management, compliance and accounting. His career at ABB has included several finance leadership assignments, where he worked closely with business and operations teams on financial performance, forecasting, internal controls and strategic decisions.
Before becoming CFO, Rangaswamy served as Business Controller – India Operations Center (Industrial Automation) from 2021. Earlier, he was Division Controller – Process Industries. In that role, he worked with business leaders on strategy, tracked market and customer developments, managed business KPIs and risks, handled budgeting and forecasting, and strengthened internal controls.
He also served as Project Business Controller at ABB, overseeing project financial performance, margins, cash flows, commercial exposure, currency and tax risks, along with financial forecasting.
Rangaswamy joined ABB in 2017 after working as Financial Controller at Honeywell. There, he handled US GAAP accounting, financial compliance, audits, finance operations and the financial integration of acquired companies.
Before Honeywell, he spent 3 years with Misys as Financial Accountant, managing Indian GAAP accounts, statutory and tax requirements and MIS reporting. He also contributed to the implementation of the NetSuite ERP platform.
Rangaswamy began his career with Mohan & Sridhar, Chartered Accountants, where he progressed from an internship to Audit Manager.
Adding to his professional qualifications, he completed the Chief Financial Officer Program in Strategic Finance at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in January 2026.
His elevation to CFO brings together experience across financial control, governance, business partnering, project finance and strategic finance, strengthening his leadership mandate at ABB Global Industries and Services.
