Quick commerce has emerged as the largest online sales channel for several leading FMCG companies in India, reflecting a significant shift in consumer preferences toward faster and more convenient shopping experiences.
Major consumer goods companies, including Dabur India and Britannia Industries, are now generating up to 75% of their online sales through quick commerce platforms, surpassing traditional e-commerce channels.
The growing popularity of 10-minute delivery services is reshaping India’s FMCG sector as consumers increasingly rely on instant delivery platforms for daily essentials and routine purchases. Industry estimates suggest that quick commerce now contributes around 6% of total FMCG sales, nearly doubling its share compared to the previous financial year.
The rapid growth of the channel has been driven by rising demand for convenience, faster delivery and impulse purchases. FMCG companies are also benefiting from stronger customer engagement and improved product visibility, making quick commerce a key component of their digital growth strategies.
Industry leaders note that quick commerce has evolved beyond grocery delivery into a broader retail ecosystem that includes packaged foods, beverages, personal care products and premium consumer goods. This diversification has contributed to stronger sales growth across multiple product categories.
As competition intensifies, brands are increasing investments in platform advertising, premium placements and search visibility to strengthen their presence and improve discoverability on quick commerce apps.
Although quick commerce still accounts for a relatively small portion of overall FMCG sales, contributing approximately 2% to 6% for many large companies, industry experts expect its influence to continue growing as consumers increasingly prioritize speed and convenience.
The trend highlights a broader transformation in India’s retail landscape, where quick commerce is challenging conventional e-commerce models and emerging as a major growth driver for consumer goods companies.
With platforms continuing to expand their reach, product offerings and delivery capabilities, quick commerce is expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of FMCG distribution and digital retail in India.
