A major chipset-focused showcase is set to take place next week as Qualcomm prepares to host its Snapdragon for India event on May 7.
Announced via social media, the annual event is expected to highlight the latest advancements in Snapdragon platforms, with a strong focus on AI-powered devices and ecosystem partnerships. The event will be livestreamed, although detailed announcements have not yet been revealed.
What to expect from the event
The company has teased “breakthrough announcements redefining everyday experience”, suggesting new product and technology reveals. Qualcomm is also expected to announce collaborations with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with brands like OnePlus and Vivo likely to be part of the showcase.
The event comes at a time when multiple smartphone launches are scheduled in India, many powered by Snapdragon chipsets.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 series launch aligns with event
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 series is set to launch on the same day. The lineup includes the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite. The standard model is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor.
The Nord CE 6 is teased to come in Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl, and Pitch Black colour options. It will feature a 1.5K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 50MP primary rear camera, a 32MP front camera, and an 8,000mAh battery with wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging support. It will run on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16.
Other smartphone launches around the same time

Background of Snapdragon for India initiative
Last year, Qualcomm hosted its Snapdragon for India Auto Day 2025 in New Delhi, where it showcased mobility technologies and partnerships with Indian companies including Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Royal Enfield.
The upcoming event is expected to continue this focus, highlighting how Snapdragon platforms are powering next-generation mobile and AI experiences.
