Google has confirmed that the Pixel 10a will launch on February 18. Ahead of the event, a detailed specifications leak has revealed how the new model compares with the Pixel 9a — and the changes appear limited.
According to a report by a technology publication, the Pixel 10a is expected to be priced at €499 in Europe. The biggest confirmed upgrade is the display protection. The Pixel 10a will feature Gorilla Glass 7i, introduced in 2024, replacing Gorilla Glass 3 used on the Pixel 9a and every A-Series device since the Pixel 4a.
Both phones share a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1080 x 2424 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. They also run Android 16 with 7 years of OS and security updates and are powered by the Google Tensor G4 processor. RAM and storage remain unchanged at 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Camera hardware also stays identical. Both models offer a dual rear setup: 48MP wide angle (f/1.7) and 13MP ultra-wide (f/2.2), along with a 13MP front camera.
Connectivity sees a slight update. The Pixel 10a reportedly upgrades to Bluetooth 6.0 from Bluetooth 5.3. It retains Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, USB-C, dual SIM support, satellite emergency calling, IP68 rating, and stereo speakers.
Battery capacity remains 5,100mAh on both devices. However, the Pixel 10a is tipped to support 45W fast charging, compared to 23W on the Pixel 9a. This claim has raised some doubt, as even the Pixel 10 supports up to 30W charging.
In terms of design, the Pixel 10a is slightly thicker at 9mm compared to 8.9mm on the Pixel 9a. It is marginally smaller in footprint and lighter at 183g versus 186g.
Overall, the Pixel 10a appears to deliver incremental improvements rather than a major overhaul.
