In his new role, Rahul will lead initiatives across Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Decision Engineering. As part of the Strategy & Transformation unit, he will focus on integrating AI into business intelligence systems and decision frameworks to improve agility, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage across global markets.
Prior to joining PepsiCo, Rahul held senior leadership roles at GE Digital, where he served as Vice President of Software Engineering – Manufacturing Digital. He led global teams of over 350 professionals and drove the development of Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions, contributing to recognition in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems.
He also served as Vice President of Software Engineering – Grid Energy, leading digital transformation programs, large-scale product development, and initiatives around cloud-first strategies, microservices architecture, and DevOps transformation.
Earlier, at GE Oil & Gas, Rahul held key roles including Chief Information Officer – Subsea Production Systems & Sub-Saharan Africa Region. He led digital transformation efforts, implemented machine learning solutions, and drove cost optimisation and productivity gains through IoT-enabled innovations.
He also served as Senior Director & CIO – Sub-Saharan Africa Region, where he managed IT strategy for a multi-billion-dollar business, overseeing ERP transformations, regional digital strategies, and expansion initiatives.
Rahul began his career at Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, building his foundation in engineering and product lifecycle management.
With experience spanning engineering, digital transformation, and enterprise leadership, Rahul brings strong expertise in AI-led transformation, cloud-native systems, SaaS platforms, and data-driven decision-making.
