Entrepreneur Navya Naveli Nanda has formally introduced Naveli Ventures, the venture arm of the Nanda Family Office, with plans to back startups and research-led opportunities across deeptech, space, artificial intelligence, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and health.

In a LinkedIn announcement, Nanda said the platform will invest through direct startup investments, institutional funds, co-investments, and partnerships involving academia and intellectual property.

“We define ourselves not by sector but by the scale of the problem and the conviction of those solving it,” she wrote. Nanda also said the family office’s relationships across industry, government, academia and the investor community could help support the ventures it partners with.

Nanda is the managing partner of Naveli Ventures. According to her LinkedIn profile, Naveli Ventures LLP was incorporated in March 2023, with Nanda and Agastya Nanda as designated partners. The latest announcement represents the formal unveiling of the venture’s investment strategy.

The family office is associated with the Nanda business group, which includes Escorts Kubota, a company focused on farm and construction equipment.

The launch comes as India increases public funding for technology-led innovation. The government’s Research, Development and Innovation scheme has a planned corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore over 6 years, with deeptech, AI, biotechnology, energy transition and space among its priority areas.

Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0, notified in April 2026, adds a Rs 10,000 crore pool, with part of the fund aimed at deeptech and technology-driven manufacturing.

Private investment is also moving towards these sectors, although at different levels. Capital-A closed the first close of its Rs 160 crore second fund in April, targeting manufacturing and deeptech startups. Bluehill.VC closed a Rs 400 crore frontier-tech fund in August.

In September, IIT Madras, IIT Madras Research Park and Unicorn India Ventures announced a Rs 450 crore first close for the IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund I, part of a planned Rs 1,000 crore deeptech fund.

Naveli Ventures is positioning itself around long-term investment rather than quick returns.

“We are not chasing quick returns but looking to help build enduring companies alongside exceptional people for India’s future,” Nanda wrote.

The focus now will be on whether this patient-capital approach can help emerging technologies progress from research and prototypes into scalable and sustainable businesses.
