NASA to broadcast launch and docking of Progress 95 cargo mission to ISS

In its continued support of space station operations, NASA will provide live coverage of the launch and docking of the Progress 95, carrying nearly 3 tons of food, fuel, and essential supplies to the International Space Station.

The uncrewed spacecraft is scheduled to launch at 6:21 p.m. EDT on April 25 aboard a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. NASA’s live coverage will begin at 6 p.m. and will be available on NASA+, Amazon Prime Video, and the agency’s YouTube channel.

Following a 2-day journey, Progress 95 will dock autonomously to the aft port of the Zvezda module at 8 p.m. on April 27. Live docking coverage will start at 7:15 p.m. across the same platforms.

The spacecraft is expected to remain attached to the ISS for about 7 months. During this period, it will serve as a key supply vehicle before eventually departing and re-entering Earth’s atmosphere, where it will burn up while disposing of onboard waste.

This mission follows the departure of Progress 93, which undocked on April 20 and safely disintegrated over the Pacific Ocean.

For over 25 years, astronauts have continuously lived and worked aboard the ISS, enabling scientific discoveries that are not possible on Earth. The station plays a critical role in advancing human spaceflight, supporting commercial space activities, and preparing for future missions to the Moon under the Artemis program and eventually Mars.
