Bengaluru-based LightFury Games has raised $11 million (approx. Rs 103 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round, strengthening its push to build a global cricket gaming experience.
The round was led by Blume Ventures, V3 Ventures, MIXI, and Times Internet. It also saw participation from Indian cricketers including MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Tilak Varma, Sai Sudharsan, and Hardik Pandya.
The startup had earlier raised $8.5 million in a seed round led by Blume Ventures in April 2024.
The fresh capital will be used to complete development of its flagship game, eCricket, and to build its live operations infrastructure, including post-launch content pipelines.
Founded in 2024 by Karan Shroff, Anurag Banerjee, and Tina Balachandran, LightFury Games focuses on creating high-quality, mobile-first gaming experiences. Its upcoming title, built on Unreal Engine 5, aims to deliver a competitive and immersive cricket simulation for a global audience.
eCricket will feature tactical batting and bowling systems, physics-driven gameplay, AI-powered commentary, and broadcast-style presentation. The game is scheduled for release in 2026 on mobile platforms.
The company has secured global player roster rights for over 600 professional cricketers, including Chris Gayle, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Pat Cummins, Jos Buttler, Travis Head, and Andre Russell.
The game will follow a free-to-play model, offering in-app purchases such as player cards, cosmetic upgrades, stadium enhancements, and season passes, without including any real-money gaming elements.
