Kyndryl welcomes Ellen Johnson as incoming CFO

Johnson will join Kyndryl on July 20 and officially assume the role of Chief Financial Officer on August 6. She succeeds Harsh Chugh, who has been serving as Interim Chief Financial Officer and will continue in the role until August 5, supporting the company’s Q1 FY2027 earnings report and ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

Commenting on the appointment, Martin Schroeter, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Kyndryl, said, “Ellen is an experienced leader in driving financial discipline, operational excellence and strong governance at global, public companies. Her expertise will further strengthen Kyndryl’s senior leadership team as we advance our growth strategy and continue delivering differentiated services to support our customers’ most complex challenges.”

Johnson joins Kyndryl from Interpublic Group (IPG), where she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2020 to 2025. During her more than two decades with IPG, she held several senior finance leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer of IPG Mediabrands, Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, Senior Vice President and Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer, International.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nexstar Media Group and most recently worked as an Advisor in Residence for the EY Center for Executive Leadership.

Johnson holds an MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with a minor in Business, from the State University of New York at Albany.
