Kotak Mahindra Bank has appointed Nipun Siddhrau as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Executive Vice President. He brings more than two decades of experience spanning cybersecurity, IT operations, information systems audit and technology management, with a substantial part of his career focused on the banking sector.
His appointment comes as financial institutions navigate an expanding digital ecosystem, rising cyber threats and increasingly complex security requirements. As banks strengthen their digital infrastructure, cybersecurity leadership remains central to protecting customer information, maintaining operational resilience and managing risks across technology systems.
Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr Siddhrau held several technology and cybersecurity positions at the State Bank of India (SBI). His roles included Assistant General Manager – Security Operations Centre, Assistant General Manager – Cyber Security, Chief Manager – Cyber Security and Chief Manager – IT Support and Services. These responsibilities gave him experience across security operations, cyber defence and IT service management.
Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Bharatiya Mahila Bank. His professional experience also includes information systems audit and technology support, spanning multiple functions within enterprise IT and information security.
Mr Siddhrau holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science. His professional credentials include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor qualification.
His appointment adds an experienced banking technology and cybersecurity professional to Kotak Mahindra Bank’s leadership team as financial services organisations continue to prioritise information security, cyber resilience and digital risk management.
