Aditya Vardhan has taken on an expanded role as Vice President IT and Group Chief Information Security Officer at Jindal Steel. His new mandate brings together leadership across information technology and cybersecurity, building on his experience in IT, cyber resilience, information security and business operations.

Vardhan has more than 2 decades of experience across information technology, cybersecurity, risk management and business operations. His career includes leadership roles at Quess Corp, PepsiCo, Adani Group, Cairn India, CMS IT Services and Larsen & Toubro.

Before taking on the expanded role, Vardhan served as Chief Information Security Officer at Jindal Steel & Power. He joined the company in 2022 from Quess Corp, where he was AVP and Head of Cyber Security & Risk. At Jindal Steel, he was responsible for cybersecurity strategy, security governance, engineering and operations across IT and operational technology systems.

Vardhan began his IT career at Larsen & Toubro, working on IT infrastructure and operations. He later moved into cybersecurity at PepsiCo, where he managed security operations in India before taking responsibility for Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

He then joined the Adani Group, leading information security initiatives, followed by a role at Cairn India. In 2014, he moved to CMS IT Services as Practice Head – Information Security. In 2018, he joined Quess Corp as AVP and Head of Cyber Security & Risk, where he helped establish the company’s cybersecurity business.

His experience covers cybersecurity strategy, cyber resilience, information security, risk management, IT operations, privacy and operational technology security. His professional profile also includes experience in GCC IT centre-of-excellence operations and business leadership.

Vardhan holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business. He has also completed professional certifications including CISSP, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC and CPISI, along with an ITIL certification.

Jindal Steel, formerly known as Jindal Steel & Power Limited, is an integrated steel company with operations across mining, captive power and steel production. The company currently operates under the Jindal Steel name.

With his expanded mandate, Vardhan will oversee both IT and group-level cybersecurity at Jindal Steel. His experience across technology, security, business operations and critical infrastructure will support his broader leadership responsibilities.
