In his new role, Jean will lead global people strategy initiatives supporting Lilly’s manufacturing and quality functions, aligning workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational priorities with the company’s long-term growth and innovation agenda.
Jean Santana has built a strong HR leadership career at Eli Lilly and Company over the past 8 years, progressing through multiple strategic leadership positions across HR business partnering, talent acquisition, DEI strategy, and enterprise people transformation.
Before taking on his latest role, Jean served as Senior Director – HR Business Partner, Manufacturing & Quality, where he supported workforce and operational initiatives across Lilly’s manufacturing and quality ecosystem.
Earlier, he worked as Senior Director – DEI & Enterprise Latinx Equity Strategy, leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while helping shape enterprise-wide people strategies focused on leadership development, representation, and organizational culture.
Jean also held several HR business partnering roles supporting global commercial, research, development, and business operations functions at Lilly. These included Associate Director – HR Business Partner, Global Commercial, Research & Development, and Senior Associate – HR Business Partner, US Commercial.
His journey at Lilly began in talent acquisition, where he worked as Talent Acquisition Recruiter – Global Recruitment & Staffing, contributing to the company’s global hiring and recruitment efforts.
Before joining Eli Lilly and Company, Jean held HR and recruitment roles at Hudson’s Bay Company, MacKay Shields LLC, and Maxim Healthcare Services, where he developed expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR operations.
With this appointment, Eli Lilly and Company continues strengthening its global people leadership strategy as it expands manufacturing capabilities and operational growth worldwide.
