Mahua Chakrabarty has taken on a new senior HR leadership role at Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd., joining the company as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In her new position, she will focus on strengthening people practices, building an empowered organisational culture and supporting the company’s growth.
Before joining Isgec, Chakrabarty served as Regional Head – HR, ISEAP (India, South East Asia & Pacific) at Maccaferri. She managed the people portfolio across the region, aligned HR strategy with business growth and was part of the Regional Leadership Team.
Earlier, she served as Group CHRO – India, Middle East and Africa at Semac Consultants, part of the Dalmia Group. Her responsibilities included leading people operations across multiple regions, with a focus on organisational alignment, productivity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and cultural integration.
Chakrabarty previously held the position of Senior Director – HR & Training at Xebia, where her responsibilities covered India, the Middle East and the United States. Before that, she was Director – Human Resources & Training at Hilti, where she worked on workplace culture and people practices.
Her earlier career also includes HR and training roles with Quipo Infrastructure and GE Capital.
Across her career, Chakrabarty has built experience in HR strategy, organisational development, culture building, leadership coaching, industrial relations, talent management and people transformation. Her leadership experience spans engineering, manufacturing, technology, financial services and consulting, along with regional responsibilities across international markets.
Chakrabarty holds an MBA in Human Resources from IIMT. She has also completed a Leadership Program Certification in Management from IMD.
As CHRO at Isgec Heavy Engineering, Chakrabarty brings extensive cross-industry and regional HR leadership experience to the company’s people and organisational agenda.
