iQOO Neo 12 launch set for October 28 with new colours and gaming hardware

iQOO is preparing to expand its gaming smartphone lineup with the Neo 12, with the company confirming its launch date, design and colour options ahead of its debut in China. The handset will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip and an Ice Dome active cooling system.

Launch date and design details

The iQOO Neo 12 will launch in China on October 28 at 7 pm local time (4:30 pm IST). Sales are expected to begin shortly after the launch event. The smartphone is currently available for pre-booking on Vivo China’s website.

The company has revealed 3 colour options: Contest, Shadow Black and Frost Blade Blue, with the names translated from Chinese. Shadow Black features a silver finish, while Frost Blade Blue has a pale blue shade. The Contest variant comes with a new textured rear panel designed to create a flowing light effect.

iQOO collaborated with the China Academy of Art on the phone’s design. The handset features a polished metal frame and a large, square-shaped rear camera module with rounded corners. It houses 2 vertically stacked lenses, with the flash placed outside the module. The camera section carries the “Monster Inside” branding and includes a round mesh grille beside the lenses. Exhaust vents are also visible on the right side of the frame.

Separately, alleged live images of the phone have surfaced on Weibo, showing the Frost Blade Blue variant.

Expected performance and battery

The iQOO Neo 12 is confirmed to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset alongside the company’s Q3 gaming chip. It will also feature an integrated cooling fan and an Ice Dome active cooling system.

The smartphone is tipped to pack a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging. It will succeed the iQOO Neo 11, which debuted in October last year.
