Honor has launched its Robot Phone in China, introducing a smartphone with a rotating robotic gimbal camera designed for hands-free video recording and AI-powered subject tracking. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The Honor Robot Phone is priced at CNY 9,999, roughly ₹1,41,000, for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. The top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 12,999, roughly ₹1,83,000. It is available in Moon Shadow Grey and Star Trail Silver.
The smartphone runs MagicOS 10 and features a 6.31-inch OLED display with a 1,216×2,640-pixel resolution, 460ppi pixel density and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display offers peak HDR brightness of up to 6,800 nits.
The device features a triple rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor, f/1.6 aperture and 23mm-equivalent gimbal stabilisation. It is paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 2.7x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view.
The front camera has a 50-megapixel sensor and a 90-degree field of view. The rear cameras support video recording up to 4K at 120fps, while the front camera supports 4K recording at 60fps.
The phone’s standout feature is its robotic gimbal camera mounted on the top. The module can rotate to follow subjects while recording and uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal system with AI-based intelligent subject tracking. Honor has partnered with ARRI for the device.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, GPS, NavIC, Galileo, GLONASS and infrared remote control. The phone also has stereo speakers, 4 microphones with AI noise reduction and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, proximity sensor, Hall sensors and an X-axis linear motor.
The Robot Phone packs a 7,060mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and wireless reverse charging. It measures 151.43×72.86×9.59mm and weighs approximately 248g.
Honor first teased the Robot Phone concept last year and showcased it at MWC 2026 earlier this year.
