In a notable advancement in robotics, Genesis AI has introduced GENE-26.5, a system designed to perform complex human-like tasks such as preparing meals, wiring cables, and even playing the piano.
The development marks a major step forward, especially as activities like cracking eggs or slicing vegetables have traditionally been difficult for robots. The progress is driven by a combination of advanced AI, flexible robotic hands, and extensive training.
GENE-26.5 is equipped with specially designed hands featuring 20 degrees of freedom and soft surfaces that closely replicate human movement. The robot was trained using sensor-equipped gloves that captured real human actions, enabling it to imitate intricate tasks with improved accuracy.
CEO Zhou Xian shared that the robot was able to learn a new piano song in just 1 hour. Despite this progress, the system still faces challenges with delicate tasks like cracking eggs and does not yet match human speed.
Genesis AI believes that with continued development, achieving human-level robotics may happen sooner than many expect.
