First Citizens India has appointed Swanand Deshpande, CIA, CRMA, CCSA, as Managing Director and Head of Risk Management, strengthening its leadership in risk management, operational resilience, risk governance and business risk and control management.
Deshpande joins First Citizens India with extensive experience across financial services and risk management. Before this appointment, he spent several years at Goldman Sachs, holding senior roles including Managing Director – Head of AI for Operational Risk, Senior Vice President – Execution and Processing Risk + Head of Operational Risk, Vice President – Operational Resilience + Head of Operational Risk, and Vice President – Operational Risk Head for Transaction Banking and Vice President – Operational Risk Management.
Earlier, Deshpande worked at Bank of America as Senior Risk & Control Specialist – Global Banking & Markets.
His career also includes multiple roles at HSBC, where he served as Assistant Vice President, Business Risk and Control Management and Manager – Operational Reviews. He earlier worked with HSBC as a Software Engineer.
Deshpande has also held technology-focused roles, including PeopleSoft Consultant at Infosys and Consultant at Aerosoft Systems Pvt. Ltd.
His experience across operational risk, resilience, governance, technology and control management adds broad expertise to his new leadership mandate at First Citizens India.
