Dell reduces workforce to 97,000 amid continued restructuring push

Amid continued efforts to streamline operations, Dell has reduced its workforce by about 11,000 employees this year as part of a broader plan to cut costs and reshape the business for the future. Following these layoffs, the company’s total workforce now stands at around 97,000.

The move reflects a continuation of similar actions taken last year, highlighting Dell’s ongoing focus on restructuring and adapting to changing business needs. The company is aligning its workforce and operations to stay efficient in a shifting market environment.

Along with the job cuts, Dell has also reduced its spending on severance. The company spent $569 million on severance this year, compared to $693 million last year. This decline suggests a more measured and controlled approach to downsizing compared to previous efforts.

The combined steps indicate Dell’s strategy to manage costs carefully while reorganizing its structure for long-term sustainability.
