CtrlS Datacenters has signed a Letter of Intent with the Bihar government to invest ₹10,000 crore in developing a 150 MW hyperscale AI factory in Bodh Gaya. The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the company’s new AI and cloud-ready data centre in Patna, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure.
Built with an investment of ₹400 crore, the Patna facility is located in the Patliputra Industrial Area. It currently offers an IT load of 12 MW, with scope for expansion based on future demand.
The data centre is designed to support the digital infrastructure requirements of enterprises, government institutions, hyperscalers and technology businesses across Bihar and Eastern India. CtrlS describes the facility as a greenfield data centre featuring natural disaster protection, military-grade security and energy-efficient operations.
Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters, said the company’s investments would support employment generation and regional economic development.
“Together with our ecosystem partners, we are bringing significant investments into Bihar while creating new employment opportunities and contributing to the region’s economic growth. The strong market potential and growing demand for digital infrastructure have reinforced our confidence in Bihar,” he said.
Pinnapureddy also highlighted the incentives offered by the state government as a factor supporting the company’s investment plans.
Beyond Bihar, CtrlS aims to establish more than 20 edge data centres across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in India over the coming years. The expansion is intended to meet rising demand for localised, low-latency and resilient digital infrastructure.
The company currently operates 19 data centres across 9 key markets in India and plans to build more than 4.4 GW of data centre capacity by 2030.
CtrlS is also exploring expansion into international markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with Thailand identified as its first overseas market.
The planned investment in Bihar reflects the growing focus on AI-ready infrastructure and large-scale data centre capacity to support India’s expanding digital economy.
