Personalised messaging is getting a new AI-powered option as OpenAI introduces a sticker-making feature in ChatGPT. Users can turn ideas, photos and inside jokes into custom sticker packs and use them in conversations on iMessage and WhatsApp.

The feature is available globally to mobile ChatGPT users and offers a simple way to create personalised stickers without depending on pre-made packs.

To create a sticker pack, users can select Images from the ChatGPT sidebar and choose the Stickers option. They can then describe the type of pack they want, and ChatGPT will generate a collection based on the prompt.

The tool can create packs around different themes, including pets, food, friends and Bollywood-themed reactions. Users can also use their own photos, characters and inside jokes to create more personalised stickers.

Each pack can contain up to 9 stickers, with 18 visual styles available. These include Holographic, Anime and 3D styles. Users can also remix generated stickers with emojis to create different variations.

ChatGPT Images can turn existing photos into stickers as well. This allows users to create packs featuring people, pets and other images without having to describe every sticker through text.

After creating a pack, users can download the stickers or share them directly through iMessage and WhatsApp. The stickers can also have transparent backgrounds, allowing them to be used without a solid backdrop.

OpenAI says the feature is powered by ChatGPT Images 2.0, its latest image generation model. The company has made the sticker creation feature available globally at no cost to all mobile ChatGPT users.
