Charles Schwab is set to expand its technology operations in India, with the US financial services firm planning to increase its Hyderabad tech centre workforce to around 2,000 employees by the end of 2027, according to a document and a source familiar with the company’s plans.
The Hyderabad centre will support Charles Schwab’s US business through technology development, engineering and operational functions.
The company also plans to move some technology work currently handled by contractors in India to its own centre, according to the source. The source did not wish to be identified as they were not authorised to speak to the media.
The expansion comes as Hyderabad continues to grow as a major global capability centre hub, with multinational companies increasing their technology and engineering operations in India.
