Britannia Industries has strengthened its technology leadership by appointing Rejin Surendran as Chief Digital and Information Officer (Designate), as the company prepares for the next phase of its digital transformation.

The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors on August 31, 2026, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Surendran took charge as Chief Digital and Information Officer (Designate) on September 1 and will formally assume the Chief Digital and Information Officer role from October 1, 2026.

He will succeed Susheel Navanale, Britannia’s Chief Information Officer, who is set to retire at the close of business on September 30, 2026.

Surendran brings more than 24 years of experience across digital and technology transformation. Before joining Britannia, he was Global Chief Information Officer at Wipro Enterprises Private Limited, where he led a global technology team across 25 countries for more than 4.5 years.

Earlier, he served as Head of Digital & ERP CoE at Coca-Cola’s Bottling Investments Group, where he led the organisation’s digital transformation initiatives. He also spent more than 13 years at Unilever, contributing to its digital supply-chain roadmap, including the digitisation of factories and logistics operations.

His experience spans digital transformation, enterprise resource planning, supply-chain technology and technology-led business transformation. His expertise also includes AI and machine learning, big data and predictive analytics, cloud, ERP and IoT.

Surendran holds a Master of Management from IIT Bombay and a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Warangal.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Surendran said he was looking forward to working with Britannia’s team to accelerate its digital journey and support the company’s next phase of growth.
