Ashok’s promotion reflects the organization’s continued focus on strengthening financial governance, regulatory excellence, risk management, and technology-led business transformation as the insurance sector continues evolving.
In his new role, Ashok will lead HDFC ERGO’s financial strategy, governance framework, and long-term value creation initiatives while supporting the company’s expansion across retail and corporate insurance businesses.
Before becoming CFO, Ashok served as Joint President & Deputy CFO at HDFC ERGO General Insurance. During this period, he played an important role in strengthening financial governance, strategic planning, and operational controls across the organization. He also simultaneously led finance operations as Head – Accounts & Controlling, contributing to financial management and business transformation initiatives.
Prior to joining HDFC ERGO, Ashok worked as CFO and Compliance Officer at Robinhood Insurance Broker Pvt Ltd, where he managed finance and regulatory compliance operations within the insurance industry.
Earlier in his career, he held Chief Financial Officer positions at IITians Pace Education, JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Limited, and Smart Identity Devices Pvt Ltd. Across these organizations, he gained extensive experience in financial planning, compliance, governance, and organizational finance management.
Ashok also spent more than 7 years with ICICI Lombard as AVP Finance, where he developed strong expertise in insurance finance, financial reporting, operational management, and financial controls within the fast-changing financial services sector.
With this promotion, HDFC ERGO General Insurance continues strengthening its leadership team as it focuses on sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and long-term business expansion.
