Christie Root joins Anthropic to strengthen leadership and talent development capabilities

Anthropic has strengthened its people leadership capabilities with the appointment of Christie Root to its Talent Development & Enablement team. She will support managers and leaders as the company scales its organisation and continues its mission to develop AI systems safely.

Root brings extensive experience across leadership development, executive enablement, learning and development, experiential learning, safety culture, talent management and organisational development.

Before joining Anthropic, Root spent more than 4 years at Uber, most recently serving as Executive Enablement Lead. In that role, she led enterprise leadership effectiveness initiatives and developed customised executive onboarding programmes for more than 1,000 Directors, Senior Directors and Vice Presidents.

Earlier, as Head of Experiential Learning at Uber, she led the company’s approach to career development and managed its global Learning & Development portfolio, including manager and leadership development programmes.

Root previously worked as a Learning & Development Business Partner at Uber, where she led the global People & Organization Development business-partner strategy and helped establish methods to measure business impact.

She also worked with Uber Advanced Technologies Group, where she developed and implemented a safety education programme for employees, managers and executive leaders.

Before Uber, Root served as Manager, Safety Culture and Education at Aurora, partnering with executive leadership to develop and implement an organisation-wide safety culture programme.

Earlier in her career, Root spent more than 5 years supporting Google through HCL Technologies. She progressed from Team Trainer and Team Lead to Associate Manager – Training, where she managed international training programmes and led a team of 20 trainers.

Root holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA.

Her experience across learning strategy, education, leadership development, safety culture and organisational enablement will support Anthropic’s managers and leaders as the company continues to grow.
