Amit Shah has moved into the role of Head – Human Resources at Ahmedabad International Airport, taking on a larger people leadership mandate within Adani Airport Holdings Ltd.
The appointment marks another step in Shah’s career with the Adani Group, where he has built experience across airport operations, renewable energy and large-scale manufacturing. He brings more than 15 years of experience spanning HR business partnering, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, industrial relations and HR operations.
Shah joins the Ahmedabad airport business after serving as Head HR at Mangaluru International Airport. In that role, his remit covered human resources, industrial relations and administration, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee engagement, contractor workforce management and statutory compliance.
His latest move also brings him back to Ahmedabad, where he previously spent more than four years with Adani Airport Holdings as Lead HR Business Partner. During that period, he worked across workforce planning and budgeting, HR operations, employee lifecycle management and compliance, while partnering with teams across the airport network.
A career built across diverse operating environments
Shah’s HR career within the Adani ecosystem began earlier with Adani Solar, where he worked as a Human Resources Business Partner. He was involved in the people and HR setup associated with a greenfield solar manufacturing project with a planned capacity of 2 GW, including recruitment and workforce planning for a large employee and outsourced workforce.
Before joining the Adani Group, Shah held HR roles across manufacturing and life sciences. His previous employers include Coromandel International, LavaCast, Tata Group’s Automotive Stamping & Assembly business and Jubilant Life Sciences.
The breadth of these assignments has given Shah exposure to HR challenges that range from setting up people processes for new operations and managing industrial workforces to supporting employee relations and organisational requirements in operationally intensive businesses.
People leadership in a complex operating environment
His appointment at Ahmedabad International Airport comes with a mandate that extends beyond conventional HR administration. Airports bring together multiple employee groups, contractual workforces, operational teams and external stakeholders, making workforce coordination and employee experience closely linked to business continuity.
For Shah, the move represents a progression within the airport business after leadership experience at Mangaluru and an earlier HRBP role supporting Adani’s airport operations.
As Ahmedabad continues to operate as one of Adani Airports’ key airport businesses, Shah’s cross-sector experience positions him to work at the intersection of workforce effectiveness, people processes and operational requirements.
The appointment also reflects a broader pattern in large enterprises: HR leaders with experience across businesses and operating environments are increasingly being deployed in roles where people strategy is closely tied to execution, scale and business performance.
