The move aims to enhance operational excellence, ensure leadership continuity, and support the long-term vision for the LPGCL station at Lalitpur.
Pandey brings over 28 years of experience across operations, maintenance, commissioning, safety, supply chain, strategic management, and performance of large thermal power plants. In his new role, he will focus on improving plant performance, strengthening operations, and supporting the values and legacy of the Bajaj Group.
Prior to joining Bajaj Energy, he held senior leadership roles including Executive Director – CEO at Jindal Power Limited and Chief Executive Officer – Power at Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business, where he led power operations at Jharsuguda.
During his tenure at Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business, Pandey held multiple key positions such as Chief Operating Officer – 3615 MW Power, Head – Health, Safety & Fire, Plant Head – 9 x 135 MW Captive Power Plant, and Head Operations & Maintenance – Power at Balco. His responsibilities covered strategic planning, coal sourcing, supply chain management, ash utilisation, P&L ownership, digitisation, safety systems, renovation and modernisation, vendor management, and plant performance improvement.
Earlier in his career, Pandey worked with ACC Cement as Assistant Manager, managing shift operations at the ACC power plant in Kymore. He also served as Shift In-charge – Power Plant at Malco.
Pandey holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering Technologies from Bhilai Institute of Technology.
