Mattel launches new global capability center in Hyderabad

A leading global toy manufacturer known for brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher Price, American Girl and Uno has opened its Global Capability Center in Hyderabad. The new facility is located at Gowra Palladium in HITEC City and marks the company’s latest expansion into India’s growing business and technology landscape.

The center will support a wide range of global functions, including technology development, data analytics, digital transformation, supply chain optimization and business process management. It places the company among several major international firms that have chosen Hyderabad as a strategic operations base.

Industry experts say the new center is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in areas like software development, data science, digital marketing, business analytics and supply chain management. Several hundred professionals may be hired initially, with plans for future growth.

The company operates in more than thirty five countries and sells its products in over one hundred fifty nations. Its decision to set up the center in Hyderabad strengthens the city’s position as one of the world’s fastest growing destinations for global capability centers. Hyderabad already hosts more than four hundred such centers, including those of major global companies.

The location in HITEC City provides strong advantages such as modern infrastructure, excellent connectivity, access to skilled talent from leading institutions, cost benefits and a thriving business ecosystem supported by mature service providers.

Government officials and industry leaders have welcomed the launch, calling it further evidence of the state’s business friendly environment and Hyderabad’s competitive strengths. The move also aligns with the state’s focus on strengthening its technology and business services sector.

Beyond the capability center, the company has been expanding its footprint in the Indian toy market, which is projected to reach up to four billion rupees by 2025 to 2026. The company’s growing investment reflects its long term commitment to India.

The inauguration of the center marks another milestone for Hyderabad as it continues to rise as a major global hub for business, technology and innovation.
