AkashaLabdhi Raises $1.2 Million Pre Seed Funding to Advance Expandable Space Habitats

AkashaLabdhi Pvt. Ltd., a space technology startup focused on expandable space habitats and dual use defense solutions, has raised $1.2 million in a pre seed funding round. The investment came from Uday Chatterjee, Romesh Sobti, Suraj Nalin, LVX, 1Crowd, and Riceberg Ventures. The funds will support the development of ANTARIKSHAB, an expandable space habitat created for orbital logistics, microgravity experiments, habitation, and defense applications.

“Our vision is clear. We want to put India at the forefront of orbital infrastructure and space habitation by innovating dual use technologies,” said Siddharth Jena, Founder of AkashaLabdhi. He added that closing the pre seed round marks an important milestone that brings the company closer to making ANTARIKSHAB a global reality. The funding will also be used for projects such as inflatable solar arrays, analogue studies, and the orbital launch of its MVP.

AkashaLabdhi is incubated at FSID, Indian Institute of Science, and TIDES, IIT Roorkee, and is also supported by KickSky Accelerator. The startup is working to develop advanced aerospace and defense technologies that can contribute both to national security and to the future of space exploration.
