BHEL Secures Rs 22.87 Crore Order from Indian Railways for KAVACH System

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced that it has received an order worth Rs 22.87 crore from Indian Railways (South Western Railway) for the supply and installation of KAVACH equipment, an automatic train protection system.

In a regulatory filing, the company confirmed, “Letter of Intent received on September 11, 2025, for design, development, supply, installation, trial and commissioning of on board KAVACH equipment in locomotives and trackside KAVACH equipment at station, LC, IB, ABS locations, along with associated works in South Western Railway.”

The KAVACH equipment will be manufactured at BHEL’s Bengaluru facility, reinforcing the company’s role in advancing India’s railway safety infrastructure.

The execution period for the order has been set at 18 months.
