PM Modi Credits Operation Sindoor’s Success to Advanced Technology and Make in India Defence Production

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the success of Operation Sindoor is a result of advanced technology and the Make in India initiative in defence production.

Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister said the world has witnessed the new face of New India as the armed forces destroyed terrorist hideouts deep across the border and forced Pakistan to retreat within hours. He called for greater self-reliance in technology and stressed the need for “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” manufacturing standards.

Mr Modi said Bengaluru has placed India on the global IT map and must now lead in emerging technologies and manufacturing to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat. Calling the city a “symbol of New India’s rise,” he highlighted its unique blend of philosophical heritage and technological strength. He praised Karnataka’s talent, especially the youth of Bengaluru, for contributing to progress in sectors ranging from IT to defence manufacturing.

The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s rapid infrastructure growth. He said metro networks now operate in 24 cities, the number of airports has doubled since 2014, over 40,000 kilometres of railway routes have been electrified, and exports in electronics, automobiles and mobile phones have increased.

His remarks came after he inaugurated the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro, worth around 7,160 crore rupees, and laid the foundation stone for Phase 3 of the project, worth over 15,610 crore rupees. The Yellow Line runs from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra, covering 19 kilometres with 16 stations. With this launch, Bengaluru’s operational metro network has expanded to over 96 kilometres. Phase 3 will add 44 kilometres of elevated track and 31 stations, aiming to reduce traffic in important residential, industrial and educational areas.

The Prime Minister also flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains — Bengaluru to Belagavi, Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune — promising faster journeys and better connectivity. He said the Bengaluru-Belagavi route will promote trade and tourism in north Karnataka.
