Jeff Bezos’ space company, Blue Origin, is set for its next suborbital mission, NS 34, scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2025. This will be the 14th human spaceflight and 34th overall mission for the New Shepard program. Among the six-member crew is Arvinder (Arvi) Singh Bahal, a real estate investor originally from Agra, India.
Now a naturalised citizen of the United States, Bahal is known for his adventurous spirit and love of travel. His journey has taken him across the globe, from the Pyramids of Giza to the North Pole, and now to the edge of space. Bahal holds a private pilot’s licence and helicopter training, and views this mission as a major milestone in his lifelong pursuit of exploration. Reflecting on his passion for pushing limits, Bahal once said he enjoys “challenging boundaries”, which now includes crossing the Kármán line, the internationally recognised boundary of space.
Joining Bahal on this mission are Turkish businessman Gökhan Erdem, Puerto Rican meteorologist and Emmy Award-winning journalist Deborah Martorell, English philanthropist Lionel Pitchford, entrepreneur J.D. Russell, and H.E. Justin Sun. Russell previously flew on the NS 28 mission, while Sun was the winning bidder of the first New Shepard seat in 2021, contributing $28 million to support 19 space-related charities.
For Deborah Martorell, the mission is especially significant, as she becomes one of the first meteorologists to travel beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Her award-winning work has inspired students in Puerto Rico, and she carries with her their hopes, scientific experiments, and a deep passion for science communication.
This mission marks a continued step toward Jeff Bezos’ goal of expanding public access to space. With NS 34, Blue Origin will have flown 70 people past the Kármán line. The launch is set to take place from Launch Site One in West Texas at 6:00 pm IST, and can be watched live through Blue Origin’s webcast, starting 30 minutes before takeoff.
NS 34 brings together global voices and shared dreams, showcasing the power of adventure, science, and human ambition.
