Sumit Agarwal has been promoted to the role of Executive Director and Management Consultant at PwC India, further strengthening the firm’s leadership in strategy and transformation advisory. With nearly 14 years at the firm, Sumit brings deep experience in strategic planning, business excellence, and project delivery across multiple sectors.
Before this elevation, he served as Director at PwC India, where he led several major transformation initiatives, delivering measurable results for clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, operational efficiency, and digital strategy. In his previous roles as Associate Director and Principal Consultant, Sumit was known for promoting a culture of continuous improvement, designing impactful solutions, and mentoring teams using lean and Six Sigma practices.
Sumit’s earlier professional experience includes his role as a Senior Research Analyst at a global consulting firm, where he focused on metals and minerals. He also gained international exposure during his time as a Management Intern at a Singapore-based electronics manufacturer, where he contributed to sustainability-focused initiatives.
He began his career at a leading steel manufacturer, where he led a 25-member team and was responsible for driving productivity improvements, cost efficiencies, and quality excellence through lean manufacturing and total productive maintenance approaches.
Sumit holds an MBA in Product Marketing and Management from S P Jain School of Global Management and a B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, where he was also actively involved in varsity sports.
