NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub has released the third edition of its quarterly insights series Future Front, titled India’s Data Imperative The Pivot Towards Quality. This edition focuses on the urgent need for strong data quality to support India’s tech-led governance and help achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The insights were launched in the presence of Shri B V R Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, Dr Saurabh Garg, Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, and Ms Debjani Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow at NITI Aayog. They shared their views on how India can improve its data management systems for better decision-making and public service delivery.
Speakers pointed out that India has already developed some of the world’s most successful digital platforms like Aadhaar, UPI, and Ayushman Bharat. The next step is to ensure these platforms are supported by high-quality, reliable, and accurate data. This is key to building trust in digital public services and making them more effective.
The initiative has been developed in partnership with Knowledge Partner Gramener and reflects NITI Aayog’s continued effort to build a strong data-driven system. This will help boost innovation, transparency, and evidence-based policies that are essential for national development goals under Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Future Front insights highlight the need for collaboration between government, private sector, and civil society to ensure data quality and responsible usage. It also encourages capacity building and the use of emerging technologies to improve data systems in India.
